Digital banking in Bahrain has been growing from strength to strength in recent years, driven by the rapid development of digital infrastructure, shifting customer expectations, and heightened competition from ecosystem players. Literacy levels among the younger generation are soaring, with nearly 100% of those aged 15 to 24 being literate—presenting a significant opportunity for financial institutions to capture the loyalty of tech-savvy youth by offering innovative digital banking solutions tailored specifically to meet their needs.
Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company (BCFC), a leading lending institution in Bahrain, and Unipal, the country’s largest platform offering discounts and exclusive deals to university students, saw an opportunity to innovate for the youth by combining their efforts. Together, they introduced the first co-branded youth card in the kingdom under the commercial brand IMTIAZ on BCFC’s Sahel App. With this card, university students and young adults under 30 can access rewards, discounts, and other offers across various categories directly through the Sahel App.
As the managed services provider for BCFC, Codebase was tasked with bringing this solution to life, and our team was able to deliver in under two weeks, thanks to their expertise and extensive experience with BCFC’s systems. The efficiency of cloud technology also played a crucial role, as the Sahel App is deployed in the cloud, facilitating a streamlined integration process.
